MIS survival in a CoViD-19 Pandemic by Marites B. Gonzales-Teacher III

“For safety is not a gadget but a state of mind.” - Eleanor Everet
A reference that reminds everyone in dealing with tragedy, natural disaster or even pandemic when cropped up.

Everyone is entitled to health and safety. Safe behaviour and practice ultimately protects life and resources and is vital for survival at every level that it takes place especially in this time of pandemic.

Realistically, the government cannot eliminate the negative effects of CoViD-19 apace and completely; nevertheless, we can continue to work as one to fight this battle and to help contain the spread of the virus by observing the Enhanced Community Quarantine Policy or by staying at home.

Poverty and robbery are some possible effects of this longer period of quarantine.

While waiting and praying for the pandemic to end, SDO1 Pangasinan crafted another program, that is, Aksyong Pangkaligtasan- Go bag and Self-defense. This program aimed to encourage the teachers to learn the basic survival and self- defense tips to prepare themselves for possible occurrence or when emergency arise.

As a channel of SDO1 Pangasinan, Mabulitec Integrated School headed by Dr. Christine M. Paglingayen, joined the program. Teachers prepared their own “Go Bag” which contain two to three-day basic supplies like emergency gear, water drinking, food, hygiene kit, important documents, medicine, and first-aid kit and practiced the self-defense moves.

Staying at home wedded with self-sufficiency and self-preparedness are the keys to survive.
