Teachers start painting the school green once again
A
force to reckon with in the municipality of Malasiqui in the past several years
in the Clean and Green and Gulayan sa Paaralan competitions, the Mabulitec
Integrated School (MIS) has just unfurled
its annual Gulayan sa Paaralan program on February 10, 2021 in the
institution’s premises.
MIS school head, Dr. Christine M.
Paglingayen spearheads the schools bid and she is backstopped by all teachers in
the Elementary and Secondary departments as well as the school’s non-teaching
staff.
Dr. Christine quipped, “Kung May Flower festival sa Baguio, gagawa
tayo Gulayan Festival sa MIS,” as she challenged the teachers to summon
their planting expertise to the hilt for the said program.
The teachers, led by Mrs. Jovita C. Garan
(Secondary) and Mrs. Lily L. De Vera (Elementary) were divided in to three
teams to tend to the cleanliness of the school as well as its vegetable
gardens, theme parks and collection of ornamental plants.
Mr. Jaime D. Ferrer and Mr. Julius P.
Fernandez were named as Gulayan sa
Paaralan Coordinators in Elementary and Secondary, respectively.
The assigned in-charge of the schools
beautification and cleanliness were Mrs. Marites V. Salinas (Elementary), Mr.
Jayson P. Lamsen (JHS) and Mrs. Sheila D. Delos Santos (SHS).
Mrs. Marites V. Salinas (Elementary), Mrs.
Jennifer S. Salinas (JHS) and Mr. Eugene V. Geminiano (SHS) were designated as
in-charge of the school’s theme parks and ornamental plants.
Lo and behold, the teachers were in full
force and showed their immense support for the program as they gathered the
needed gardening and cleaning tools and immediately played their respective
roles in the program. The sight was indeed startling as teachers displayed solidarity
and their immense love for the school.
SHS ICT Coordinator, Mr. Santos H. Valdez,
Jr. said, “We will attempt to be the best.” Mr. Santos together with Mr.
Renante Z. Orenza and Mr. Ferrer showed the school’s readiness in the said
program with a fine start in the SHS premises by coming up with a vertical
garden and planting vegetables such as eggplants, tomatoes, and kamote to boost
further the existing school’s garden in the JHS grounds.
The program receives a big boost as throng
of generous teachers poured their support to the program.
Here’s a short list of donors in the said
program:
Vegetable
(eggplants, and tomatoes) and sunflower seedlings – Mrs. Marites B. Gonzales
Assorted
vegetable seeds and seedlings – Elementary Department
Sampalok seedlings and
malunggay cuttings – Mr. Jaime D. Ferrer
Ornamental plants
– Mrs. MaryJoy A. Alburo
Pechay and papaya
seedlings and gabi – SHS Department
Eggplant
seedlings – Mr. Renante Z. Orenza
As expected this will grow as the days goes by, together with the planted greens in the school’s vicinity.
