Mabulitec Integrated School: Embracing the New Normal By Marites B. Gonzales/Teacher III

While home schooling and online learning are among the proposed solutions, access to technology and the internet, especially in remote areas remains a challenge. As this is a reality that many schools, learners, and communities will face, the Department of Education (DepEd) proposes a combination of different learning modalities. DepEd recently announced that classes for the next school year would begin on August 24, 2020 but there will be no face-to-face contact. With this, different methods like online learning and offline methods such as take-home reading and activities are offered. While the future remains unknown, Schools Division Office I Pangasinan under the headship of the OIC, Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Sheila Marie A. Primicias, is continuously creating an avenue where learning can take place and make the learners of the division find their stay at home safe and fun through suggested activities. Here are the suggested activities which ebulliently joined by the Mabulitec Integrated School (MIS) learners from June 8 to 11: June 8, 2020 . KINDERGARTEN - Paggamit ng mga Daliri sa Kamay sa Pagkain ELEMENTARY - The Calm Down Jar/Bottle JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL - Knowing Biodiversity SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL - Upcycling Shampoo Bottle Into Cellphone Charging Container June 9, 2020 KINDERGARTEN - Pagpapakilala ng Sarili sa Ibang Miyembro ng Pamilya ELEMENTARY - Number 1 Activity JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL - Spread Positivity SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL - No Bake Milo Cake June 10, 2020 KINDERGARTEN - Paglalagay ng mga Maliliit na Bato sa Bote ELEMENTARY - Basic Computer Skill JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL - Slogan/Poster Against Racism SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL - DIY Distressed T-shirt June 11, 2020 KINDERGARTEN - Pagkain Gamit ang Kutsara at Tinidor ELEMENTARY - Wastong Pangangalaga sa Kalikasan JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL - Happy School SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL - Mongo Sprout in a Bottle With these SDO1 Pangasinan’s suggested activities, MIS learners won’t get left behind in education as they stay at home with learning opportunities. The division has many activities stored for the learners like them to ensure the continued learning. By the same token, MIS headed by Dr. Christine M. Paglingayen encouraged the teachers to coordinate with the parents and inspirit them to take advantage of the time they spend at home with their children by teaching them or having them engaged in the activities suggested by the division to improve their competencies or skills. Thus, helping their children live the new normal.
