Environmental activities highlight 'Aksyong Pangkalikasan'

In support to Aksyong Pangkalikasan Program of the Schools Division Office I Pangasinan under the initiative of Sheila Marie A. Primicias, CESO VI, OIC Schools Division Superintendent, Mabulitec Integrated School (MIS) started implementing environmental activities that would help in conserving and developing the environment.

Pursuant to Section 5.2 of Executive Order No.26, s. 2011 and DepEd Memorandum No.58, s.2011 entitled Creating the Task Force on National Greening Program, MIS teachers and learners led by Dr. Christine M. Paglingayen, School Principal, made the 3 o’clock Aksyong Pangkalikasan Program habit as a continuous school environmental activity.

With combined efforts, Supreme Pupil Government under the leadership of Katrina Vera Marie D. Adriano and Student Supreme Council headed by Jerome Vinluan worked hand-in-hand in keeping the school ground in order by putting plants in the right places and removing the scattered materials.

With the directive of Dr. Paglingayen, plastics will not be used anymore in canteen and learners were asked to bring their own cup of bowl in replacement of plastics. Aside from that, each classroom will have water container/dispenser while teachers will use their tumblers instead of having plastic bottled water. Proper waste disposal is also strictly followed.

This program aimed to practice waste management principles such as minimization, segregation at source, reduction, recycling, re-use, composting and support the tree planting activity in school and in the community.

As the saying goes “ Cleanliness  is next to godliness,” the school committed to continue the said activity and will organize more environmental activities that will support and intensify the NGP.
